Job description

Our client is a boutique consulting company who is a managed SAP partner.  They have established a great culture with almost no employee turnover.  This role can be performed remotely. 

The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of SAP ERP products and capabilities for mid-market businesses, consulting with our clients to understand their business pain points and challenges while describing and demonstrating the SAP-based solutions to the achievements we can attain together as partners. Having a background and hands-on experience in Finance/Accounting is highly preferred.

We are looking for experienced, pre-sale consultants, based in the United States, who have proven ability to support prospective customers for SAP HANA Cloud and related products. This person would act in the role of a trusted advisor to the customer/prospect.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and business consultative leadership during the pre-sales and/or post-sales cycle, for mid-market ERP implementations.
  • Be a subject matter expert on S/4HANA and related SAP product suites and act as a critical client contact and strategic advisor throughout the sales cycle of SAP S/4HANA solution implementations.
  • Provide process expertise and solutions in Supply Chain and Finance areas and integration with other SAP ERP Modules.
  • Have hands-on expertise and experience in Finance and Accounting to assist with internal financial analysis and KPI monitoring.
  • Collaborate with sales and presales teams to plan account strategies and develop content that enables the sales team to qualify, position, and demonstrate our SAP service offerings and to prospects and clients.
  • Engage with customers in executive meetings, solution workshops, and design sessions and clearly articulate the business value of SAP solutions through tailored presentations and demos.
  • Identify and describe solution options, evaluate pros/cons, and make recommendations regarding best solution strategies and estimated opportunity timelines.
  • Create business requirements documents, process maps, high-level solution design diagrams, and scope of works for various business implementation scenarios and solution designs.
  • For executed deals, ensure formal handoff of design and cost estimation to the Delivery Team and provide technical input to key project team members and stakeholders.
  • Shape conversations with customers by guiding deep cross-functional Discovery based on industry best practices, customer research, and SAP customer experiences across SAP solutions.
  • Assist in the development of proposals to RFIs/RFPs, as needed, and drive solution expertise and competitive messaging in the RFP response package.
  • Training other members of the pre-sales team on the technical aspects of the service offerings and products.

You'll be a good fit if you have

  • 6+ years of SAP ERP pre-sale and/or architecture experience, with hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA modules (Oil&Gas or Construction/Engineering preferred)
  • Expertise and background in Finance and Accounting.
  • Experience in building ERP business solutions with a focus on Finance and Supply Chain.
  • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers and identify and resolve problems through recommending and implementing creative solutions.
  • Proven ability to participate in value-based client conversations.
  • Proven skills to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with the internal sales and delivery teams.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changes in the business environment.
  • The ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • The ability to maintain perspective, composure, and a constructive attitude in stressful situations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Accounting/Finance, Business, and/or Analytics and at least 6 years of experience in SAP ERP consulting or SAP technical consultant roles.
  • Significant experience in managing end-to-end delivery in an SAP environment, preferably for mid-size Oil & Gas or Construction/Engineering clients.
  • The ability to travel, as needed and depending on territory, is required. Maintaining reliable transportation is also required.
