The Director, Site Reliability Engineering maintains, integrates and improves software applications and platforms across multiple IT development, production support, and infrastructure teams to ensure application health, performance and continuous improvement for a dynamic and growing set of business units. The Director, Site Reliability Engineering requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

The Director - Site Reliability Engineering – Digital and Automation is responsible for leading, multiple large teams driving stability, reliability, automation, security and performance improvement for key IT and business platforms, and solutions.  The SRE Director will partner with multiple IT areas in the enterprise and multiple business and IT executive leaders.  This role requires a highly experienced, accountable, independent leader making complex decisions and working across multiple business and IT organizations to develop this product and support roadmap for critical enterprise applications.   Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy.

  • Own stability, reliability, automation and performance improvement across application security services, critical application platforms including cloud and cloud enablement, as well as digital applications across multiple Humana business areas including Core Insurance and CenterWell.
  • Partner with key business and IT stakeholders including IT SVP’s for effective application solutions, security and platform enablement with world class user and member experience.
  • Lead application operational excellence while advancing modernization and cloud transformation.
  • Innovate continuous process improvement and grow a team of 100+ associates and contractors providing 24x7 support and maintenance across critical corporate applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or similar field or 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology
  • 5+ years IT leadership experience in application support, Site Reliability Engineering for global teams
  • 3+ years of Digital Application (Cloud) support or development experience in Healthcare or Insurance
  • Experience leading and implementing large scale projects, initiatives and support team operating resource models for global teams
  • Executive presence, presentation and influencing executive leadership in business and IT
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Deep SAFE/Agile acumen and experience , as a part of working in highly collaborative, matrixed organizations that support critical business functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Advanced Degree in IT or related field
  • Previous experience leading IT leaders
  • Six Sigma certification
  • ITIL certification
  • Cloud engineer or architect certification

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$153,500 - $211,300 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
