The Medical Cost Advancement Advisor provides support to the Medicare Medical Cost Management team and matrixed partners in the delivery of enterprise trend savings goals. Come join this high performing team and work on solving complex and highly visible initiatives focusing on the delivery of enterprise Medicare Trend Goals

The Medical Cost Strategy team is seeking a talented individual contributor to foster and develop lasting partnerships with our matrix partners. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative and adept at navigating nuances amongst many enterprise partners to ensure delivery of key trend programs and savings. You will join a high performing team and will support enterprise partners in managing to future trend goals.

As a Medical Cost Advancement Advisor, you may:

  • Create lasting partnerships with key matrixed teammates across the enterprise.
  • Advocate for the continuous improvement of processes to deliver savings in a timely manner, ensuring policies and procedures align with the vision of always on trend management.
  • Enhance the channels in which we communicate progress, reconciliation of initiatives and manage to key enterprise metrics.
  • Exercise independent judgement and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 or more years business experience with emphasis on process improvement, finance/cost reduction
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience or equivalent
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport at all levels within the organization
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to perform with independence
  • Ability to interact and defend position with senior leaders
  • Willing to travel based on business need
  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in business or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Employer Group Trend, Clinical Trend, Pharmacy Trend, Retail Trend or STARS
  • Project/Program management experience

Additional Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$112,400 - $154,900 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
