About The Role**
The Associate Director, Data Management is responsible for leading a team of Lead Data Managers, Data Managers, and/or Database Developers in the documentation and design of clinical study data acquisition tools, review of data, and all other Data Management tasks ensuring efficient production of high‑quality client and internal deliverables. They take accountability for overall planning, organization, and coordination of Data Management support for all assigned studies and programs. In addition, the Associate Director, Data Management is responsible for employee recruitment, training, and retention as well as collaboration to meet departmen t quality and financial goals. **
What You'll Do Here**
- Follow department and company standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, templates, and policies. Provides feedback and updates these guidelines as needed.
- Lead assigned teams to support a culture of high client satisfaction, continuous process improvement and fact-based decision making.
- Act as escalation point for project teams, clients and Altasciences management. Responsible for leading assigned escalations to resolution.
- Lead and participate in intradepartmental or interdepartmental processes and quality improvement initiatives. Including both technology and process improvements, leading to improved deliverable quality and department efficiency.
- Develop new or updated SOP’s, processes, and training to support the culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaboratively develop training plans and training for all roles within the Data Management department.
- Understand and implement all Data Management processes; database set-up through database lock, including vendor reconciliation.
- Understand and develop department metrics and KPI’s that reflect current activities, successes, and challenges.
- Understand study level and department budgets, and also track team and individual performance against established budgeted targets.
- Ensure leads or other department team members provide input on study timelines, identify risks, and communication of mitigation strategies to the Project Manager or other stakeholders.
- Manage the DM deliveries and ensure assigned studies or clinical programs achieve timelines and quality per contractual agreements and sponsor and company expectations.
- Manage direct reports as assigned, effectively utilizing the performance management process in addition to managing attendance, hiring and terminations.
- Understand current and forecasted staffing needs, developing fact-based recommendations.
- Maintain compliance and ensure departmental awareness of regulatory guidelines of related authorities (FDA, EMA, etc.) as well as ICH and GCP procedures.
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in health-related sciences or relevant field and 7+ years of industry or contract research organization (CRO) related Data Management experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Strong technical aptitude and experience with multiple source data capture and clinical data management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

- Solution-focus and ability to creatively solve problems and resolve issues.

What We Offer
The pay range estimated for this position is $80,000 - $140,000. Please note that salary rates vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data .
