Job description
Your missionsThe Design Foundations org is seeking a technical, empathetic web engineer who is passionate about working on the face of Discord: discord.com. You will help make our marketing properties blazing fast, and work to empower our marketing teams to move independently and quickly. Design Foundations fosters a unified and delightful Discord experience for all users. We define and uphold the design language, set visual direction, and provide tools which support Discord's company-wide objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Partner closely with our Marketing and Brand teams to keep Discord.com fresh
- Improve the reliability and performance of Discord.com
- Work w/ product engineering teams, PMs, and Designers to bring new campaigns to life
- Make architectural improvements to improve the long term maintenance of our marketing pages.
- Work w/ analytics and experimentation frameworks to help optimize the performance of the site.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry technologies.
What you should have
- 3-5 years of professional experience working on high traffic web pages
- Strong grasp of mobile and desktop website fundamentals, specifically:
- TypeScript/JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and React
- Excellent knowledge of web performance, especially as it relates to Core Web Vitals
- Comfort picking up and integrating new third party tools
- Clear communication and the ability to operate in a collaborative environment of cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity w/ bundlers like webpack and an understanding of their impact on web performance
Bonus Points
- Engineers in this position will partner with the Design Systems and Product Creative teams—experience w/ systems teams that set visual/product direction will make this role feel familiar
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 to $178,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
