What You’ll Be Doing**

  • Manage & expand SPP’s relationship with individual customers within key accounts
  • Develop customer relationships through regular customer contact over the telephone/email to drive sales
  • Make outbound calls to assigned prospect contacts/accounts, and accurately and efficiently document
  • Effectively prioritize among numerous customers and opportunities for greatest return
  • Manage pipeline to identify opportunities and convert those opportunities to bring in sales
  • Ensure retention by building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers
  • Maintain each customer’s current spend and actively prevent customer and account attrition
  • Develop and implement outbound marketing strategies to gain market share within selected accounts for program, special order and I&R sales
  • Meet activity goals and sales metrics
  • Over the phone engagement with customers to uncover and win new opportunities and discuss promotions and/or campaigns
  • Direct special order sales for individual customers utilizing the accounts special order support team.
  • Will also be required to provide creative sourcing ideas in support of customers and the account
  • Drive awareness of the account’s program to individual customers through marketing efforts
  • In partnership with the Account Manager provide direction and support to all internal departments that support the account – Special Order, Program Management, Merchandising, I&R and Customer Service – to ensure client needs are met
  • Utilize technology such as Salesforce, High Velocity Sales, and Tenfold to accurately record andmanage book of business
  • Travel to various customer locations, meetings or on-site events as needed
  • On an as needed basis work on short term sales promotions to drive revenue for targeted accounts
  • Other assigned duties relative to sales development

  • Ability to analyze customer data, business, and industry trends to create tailored solutions for customers based upon Staples Promotional Products value proposition
  • Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervision

What’s Needed- Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of successful experience in a sales, customer service or a sales support position

What’s Needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic software tools
  • Previous experience with virtual selling or relevant career experience or education background
  • Previous responsibility retaining and growing accounts and demonstrated ability to sell company values and services
  • Previous responsibility for a sales budget and track record of exceeding quota, activity metrics, KPI's
