Job Summary: Analyst, Smart Grid Technology Planning**
As an Analyst in Smart Grid Technology Planning, you will leverage your education and experience to collaborate with the smart grid planning team in developing comprehensive ten-year technology roadmaps. In this individual contributor role, you will work closely with subject matter experts in reliability, beneficial electrification, load management, metering, and communications. Your responsibilities include helping electric cooperatives understand the benefits and costs associated with recommended smart grid initiatives. Through collaboration with the company subject matter experts and our members, you will contribute to the development of technology roadmaps, answering crucial questions surrounding smart grid initiatives.
The Analyst role requires a detail-oriented, member-focused attitude to facilitate project scheduling and ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work across organizational boundaries for project execution, coupled with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. **
Responsibilities**
- Assist Smart Grid Technology Planning leadership in managing and delivering smart grid technology roadmap projects by procuring, organizing, and distributing data from member co-ops.
- Support the team in developing business cases and preparing presentation materials.
- Maintain project schedule, structure, and documentation throughout the delivery process.
- Stay current on smart grid technologies and roadmaps, providing insightful input based on member challenges and capabilities.
- Contribute to thought leadership and content around smart grid technology planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Member-centric perspective demonstrated through professionalism and thoughtful engagement.
- Ability to comprehend high-level electric utility financial models representing the performance of financial assets, projects, or investments.
- Self-driven with the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, comfortable interfacing with internal and external stakeholders in a remote work setting.
- Strong written, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management, excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Conflict resolution ability and maintenance of positive relationships with internal and external clients.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Minimum Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business management, or finance/economics or related field.
- 3+ years working at an electric cooperative is a plus.
- Experience in smart grid technology and/or consulting is a plus.
- Experience working on teams in electric utilities in areas such as metering, reliability and outage management, load management, power quality, and/or solar/storage is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Remote environment with the expectation to travel 10-20%.
