Position Summary:
The team is building a portfolio of Products that use a human-centered, data-informed approach to transform the way people digitally interact with their vehicles and each other. As an incubator within the nation's largest automotive retailer, Marketplace is positioned to drive the future of digital experiences and create impactful change in the daily lives of consumers.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Marketplace team, you will be joining the ground floor of a passionate and growing team of cross-functional digital experts in product, engineering, and design. In this role, you will be a leading driver of the squad and agency partners through product development, research and testing, and developing KPIs as we build and grow our first product and support infrastructure from 0-1. We are looking for a highly collaborative team member with a fanatical focus on the customer, and experience leading data-powered connected products in areas of disparate systems and processes.
This role focuses specifically on consumers and insights within the product, driving frequent and deep engagement.
Organizational Relationships:
This role is a direct report to the Director of Product for Marketplace, building relationships with the Marketplace squad of product owners, engineers, designers, consumer researchers, and partnership managers, as well as throughout the organization with other digital product, marketing, customer service, and legal teams.
Responsibilities:
(45%) Lead product strategy for a defined area of business, and create comprehensive, detailed documentation for business cases, PRDs, and feature definition to guide product development
(5%) Create, manage, and communicate roadmaps and feature prioritization across Marketplace squads
(20%) Create and maintain repository of industry and competitive research reporting to inform product strategy
(20%) Collaborate closely with Product Owners for user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization
(10%) Advocate for customers throughout product development by collaborating with product design and operations to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points through research and testing
(5%) Define and manage KPIs of product initiatives leading into portfolio and organizational objectives
Influence roadmaps across AutoNation digital products to aid in Marketplace objectives while ensuring alignment to organizational success
Manage and mentor Product Managers as Marketplace team expands
Experience
5-8+ years of experience in digital product management, preferably with a focus on mobile, connected, and/or data-powered products
2-5+ years of experience managing and leading product teams and cross-functional product squads
Demonstrated success collaboratively launching and growing products from 0-1
Ability to understand and collaborate on complex technical concepts and systems with engineers and scientists, with a focus on AI/Client
Strong ability to empathize with and advocate for consumers
Experience conducting user research and analysis to develop deep insights into customer needs and behaviors
Understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
