Responsibilities**
A Typical Day in the Life
As a Manager/Senior Manager specializing in exempt organizations in our National Tax Office, your day may involve:
- Providing consulting services on exempt organization matters, such as unrelated business income, exemption applications, and compensation issues.
- Managing and delivering client projects, including data analysis, preparation of calculations, and IRS filings.
- Overseeing multiple client projects to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborating with clients in industries such as higher education, nonprofit, private foundation, and healthcare.
- Staying updated on tax regulations and communicating relevant issues internally and externally.
- Liaising with the IRS to address filing notices and e-file issues.
- Contributing to the development of new service offerings based on industry developments.
- Building relationships within the firm to serve as a trusted resource.
- Interacting with clients professionally and discreetly.
- Proactively identifying and resolving problems.
- Presenting on technical issues at seminars and trainings.
- Maximizing tax benefits and minimizing risks for clients.
- Participating in professional association meetings.
- Mentoring staff members to enhance their skills and careers.
- Developing and managing client relationships.
- Networking to attract new business for the firm.
- Billing clients for services provided.
Qualifications: Who You Are **
You Possess**
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or J.D. (Masters or LL.M. in Taxation preferred).
- 8+ years of experience with exempt organizations.
- A valid CPA license (preferred) or JD.
- Proficiency in tax research.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for working with nonprofits.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivation and independence.
- High ethical standards.
- Effective delegation and management skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
