This Strategic Role Will Focus On

  • Driving enterprise awareness and adoption of RWD/RWE across the product development lifecycle and customer accounts, with expectation to drive enterprise growth of RWD/RWE
  • Key executive stakeholder across enterprise, interfacing with SVP & Head of RWLP, Medical Affairs, and other leaders across the company.
  • Responsible to develop a RWD Center of Excellence to create a RWD strategy and elevate design and observational study methodology and competency within Syneos Health
  • Monitor industry, regulatory, market and stakeholder trends to lead/contribute to development and execution of an RWE business growth strategy built upon best scientific, regulatory, and operational delivery models. May include assessment and development of:
  • Internal partnerships/collaborations
  • Building external partnerships/collaborations
  • Assessment and development of new business offerings
  • Drive RWD/RWE thought leadership (internal and external)
  • Contribute to customer technical and strategic consultations.
  • May lead customer request for proposals (RFP), requests for information (RFI), presentations, proposal defenses, bid defenses and/or involvement in steering committees.
  • Key partner and contributor to RWLP Medical affairs business development; may include contribution to customer growth account plans
  • Drive refinement and optimization of proposal process/ costing The individual is expected to be comfortable communicating, building relationships with and delivering at C-suite level both internally at Syneos Health and externally among prospective clients and other stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

Knowledge And Experience/Competencies/Qualifications

  • 15+ years working in the pharmaceutical industry/pharmaceutical services/Contract Research with deep understanding of product development and commercialization.
  • Deep knowledge of the RWD/RWE research area including but not limited to;
  • RWD/RWE applicability within product development and commercialization
  • Strong technical/methodological experience in primary (NIS and interventional designs) and secondary research approaches
  • Strong understanding of secondary healthcare data landscape
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidance and adoption of RWE/RWD approaches (global) o Strong understanding of different technology domains (infrastructure, architecture, analytics applications) in relation to RWD/RWE projects
  • Strong scientific/medical background – ideally already recognized as an RWD/RWE thought leader, although proven ability as a business leader may be sufficient for otherwise strong candidates.
  • Track record of successfully enabling business growth in the context of RWE/RWD within CRO or pharmaceutical industry
  • Exceptional influencing and networking skills (both internal and external)
  • Advanced degree in life sciences
  • Sense of urgency and achievement with an entrepreneurial mindset and approach
  • Must have spent some time actively managing RWD/RWE projects across functional areas (strong understanding of operational translation of RWD/RWE strategy).
  • Flexibility, the ability to mentor and manage new staff and to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines delivering high quality work in a dynamic environment is essential. Requires interpersonal and presentation skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Line management, coaching and mentoring
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%)

The expected annual base salary for this position is $184,140 to $378,600.
