What you’ll learn & achieve:
The Regulatory Services Compliance Risk Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining UL Solutions’ service compliance risk governance framework including policies, controls, metrics, and procedures that integrates with UL Solutions’ service governance framework and UL Solutions overall risk management framework. This role provides service compliance risk guidance and internal consultation to senior, operational, and business leaders to ensure ongoing protection of and trust in the UL Solutions Brand. The Director acts as a trusted service compliance risk advisor and provides guidance on matters of significant service compliance risk impact to the company. This role also enables growth in new and sustaining services, collaborating with company-wide functions, minimizing UL Solutions’ service compliance risk.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining UL Solutions’ service compliance risk governance framework. - Develops, refines, and implements risk management strategies, policies, processes, technical and organizational controls to ensure compliance with UL Solutions service compliance risk governance framework. - Advises business partners and provides direction, guidance, oversight, and training to leadership teams regarding identification, analysis, and mitigation of service compliance risks. Drive awareness and adoption of risk management best practices. - Builds strong relationship with executive, senior, operational, and business leaders. Proactively partner with business leaders to help identify UL Solutions’ service compliance risks and develop risk mitigation plans to minimize service compliance risk while enabling UL Solutions’ strategic business goals and objectives. - Develop and deliver risk reports and dashboards to executive and senior management. - Engages with stakeholders in the conformity assessment and accreditation community (e.g., regulators, scheme owners, accreditors) to advance UL Solutions’ understanding of service compliance risk tenets. - Advises Function leader on matters related to service compliance risk and mitigation. - Provides thought leadership on ad-hoc projects as required by Function leader. - Researches, analyzes, and advises on risks to conformity assessment services related to current and emerging technologies. - Stay current with industry trends and best practices in risk management and apply them to UL Solutions service compliance risk management program.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. - Strong knowledge of risk management principles, techniques, and frameworks, including ISO 31000. - 8 - 10 years or more related experience or demonstrated competency. Professional certification such as CRMP, CRM are preferred. - In-depth and/or breadth of expertise in regulations and applied conformity assessment. - Proficient in understanding of relevant international conformity assessment standards and their applications. - Expertise in the understanding of technical vocabulary common to conformity assessment. - Ability to clearly communicate unique and/or complex concepts and influence others to adopt a different point of view. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business leaders to develop and implement risk management strategies and processes. - Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate internal and external meetings, negotiate and produce the desired outcomes. - Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a matrix organization. - Strong communications, interpersonal and networking skills. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills. - Ability to think strategically and anticipate future risks and opportunities. - Open mindedness and ability to quickly grasp new concepts and ideas. - Lead internal and external teams to solve unique and/or complex problems. - Utilize sophisticated analytical thought process to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions. - Persuasiveness to influence the acceptance and implementation of the developed conclusions and recommendations. - Willing and able to travel to meet position responsibilities.
