Job Description

The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for the overall sales and profitability, as well as negotiations of custom contracts, account management, pricing strategy, contract amendments and renewals for the assigned IDN's/Collaboratives/Channel Partners/Buying Groups [Groups] under GPO's. The primary role of this position is managing at the headquarters level and delivering incremental new sales growth annually on a national basis in collaboration with business development, account management, and category team efforts; implementing and driving a successful sales strategy and ensuring the company meets revenue and profit objectives. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships with Groups' contracting, contract management, supply chain and field staff within the Groups they support. This role also requires strong collaboration with support and internal partners such as category experts, implementations/support, and pricing. **

Duties & Responsibilities**

  • Establishes and maintains business management relationships with the senior executive team

members within the Buying Groups

  • Extensive experience and ability to negotiate with C-Level for Fortune 500 prospects
  • Adept at navigating complex sales/business development cycles that factor in numerous

influencers and decision makers.

  • Demonstrates expertise of industry buying process' and ability to support product selection and

standardization.

  • Provide trainings and direction to Business Development, Account Executives and Category

Experts on Consortium initiatives, opportunities, and strategies to hunt new members and grow

existing account base.

  • Teaming with category experts to add value and expertise to best position Staples to win.
  • Collaborates with internal resources support teams, account executives and

category experts to meet customer needs and profitably grow accounts.

  • Exhibit high level of business acumen and Strategic Selling methodologies to create a value based deal and align with the customers vision and initiatives (ex: I&D, sustainability, HR).

What’s Needed- Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 Years related experience managing large complex customers.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Healthcare industry
