Area Sales Manager - commodity building products

The Role of Area Sales Manager

  • This is a field home based role covering the West Midlands and the South West.
  • This is an Account Management role selling timber and flooring products.
  • The customer base is national and independent builders merchants (including MKM Jewson, Travis Perkins etc), timber engineering companies such as (Howarth Timber, Staircraft, Donaldson's etc) as well as the top 25 national house builders, including (Taylor Whimpey, Redrow, Barratt Homes and Persimmon).  There will also be some involvement with Buying Groups such as Fortis and NBG.
  • The successful Area Sales Manager will inherit a strong client base and will be tasked with developing relationships and uncovering growth opportunities within these accounts.

The Company hiring an Area Sales Manager

Our client are a leading manufacturer of heavy side commodity construction products.  They have manufacturing plants all over Europe with a work force that is 800+ strong and a turnover in excess of £400m. There are multiple divisions within this business and their products range from interior finishing products through to structural building products. This profitable organisation continue to invest in new product development, training and manufacturing. The Candidate

  • Experience selling a commodity product used in structure or fabric of the house (e.g. windows, bricks, timber, blocks, insultation, door sets, timber frames, roofing products etc into builders merchants.
  • Or experience working for a builders merchant, timber engineering company or insulation distributor - with a desire of working for a leading manufacturer.

The Package on offer for the Area Sales Manager

  • £45,000 - £55,000 basic
  • 20% OTE / Bonus
  • Hybrid car or car allowance
  • 25 days holiday plus stats
  • Fuel card
  • 14% combined pension
