Job Description

The Ford Champs Program provides undergraduate students with hands-on, career-specific experience inside Ford of Mexico.

Ford Champs looks forward to providing you with key knowledge and significant experiences for your professional career. Throughout this part-time program, there are many opportunities to gain insight and exposure to our business that will last a lifetime.

Ford Champs program will allow to get to now different business areas through 12 to 24 months, while you improve your skills and become a better professional.

As a BI CAE Ford Champ; Perform structural, impact and airbag deployment CAE analyses in Ford and Lincoln components (hard trim & overhead systems) using different finite element softwares such as LS-DYNA, Hyperworks, OptiStruct, ANSA and ESI. **

Responsibilities**

Candidate must be on site at least once per week for activities.

Build CAE models (meshing, setting and running) for upper trim and overhead system components.

Make correlation studies between CAE and physical testing.

Interpretation of CAE model results and preparation of clear information to share with design and release engineers.

In charge of generating feasible proposals to solve performance issues .

Develop cost effective design solutions that address performance issues.

Determine root cause of issues applying the appropriate Engineering Quality tools.

Validate product changes using the appropriate Engineering CAE tools.

Prepare status reports on resolution and timing of changes to update and support management .

Promotes good work environment withing all team members, always sharing knowledge and being a team player.

In charge of presenting/communicating issues and status for a given program. **

Qualifications**

Engineering Degree in progress, active student from any of the last 4 semesters

of Electrical, Electronic, Systems, Mechanical – Electrical, Mechatronics, Aeronautical,

Engineering.

Good engineering fundamentals such as solid mechanics, materials and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of CAE is a plus (LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Nastran, Hypermesh, Moldflow, nCode, Moldex, ANSA and/or other commercially available FEA program is desirable).

Knowledge in programming language is a plus (preferred TCL/ TK, Python)

Knowledge of CAD.

High capacity for analysis and root cause finding.

Excellent organization with assignments.

Passion to overcome challenges and keep learning.

Excellent people skills and the ability to interface with several teams is a must.

Excellent english communications skills ( Written and Oral ).

Presentation Skills.

Be proactive for finding solutions to given issues.
