Job Description**
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Social Media Manager for our New Hampshire publication. Reporting to the Head of Social/Deputy Social Editor, this fully remote position requires candidates to reside in New Hampshire and operate within EST business hours. **
Responsibilities**
As the Social Media Manager, you'll play a vital role in shaping our online presence and connecting with our audience. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Content Publishing: Manage the publication of engaging content across all social media accounts for our New Hampshire property.
Voice and Tone Consistency: Ensure a cohesive and consistent voice and tone across all social platforms.
Audience Growth: Create and publish growth-centric content, collaborating with Civic Impact and Community teams for ongoing projects.
Digital Reporting: Be the first point of contact for digital reporting as news breaks, and lead audience development across social media.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, audience growth plan, content calendar, and measurement framework, with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, driving traffic to our newsletter and optimizing packaging for maximum engagement.
Trend Analysis: Keep the editorial team informed about trends and optimize story packaging for increased audience engagement.
Creativity and Partnerships: Develop creative ideas for social distribution, including building partnerships with influencers and other publishers.
Content Editing and A/B Testing: Edit and A/B test story packaging to maximize engagement on all platforms.
Content Scheduling: Schedule in-house and externally created content, managing communications with reporters and editors for social-specific promotions.
Other Responsibilities: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned. **
Ideal Candidate Requirements**
4+ years of professional working experience in the media industry.
Proficiency in English.
2-3 years of recent, hands-on experience in creating content for diverse audiences on social media platforms.
Deep understanding of content creation protocols, social trends, and best practices for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Familiarity with social media analytics tools and a strong understanding of engagement metrics and audience growth strategies.
Ability to independently make decisions, manage multiple projects, and tasks.
Interest or prior experience in a fast-growth startup environment.
Interest and/or relevant experience in journalism or the news industry. **

Salary: $52,000-65,000 Annually
