New York FarmNet is actively recruiting for part-time Financial Consultants in the Oneonta, NY area.
This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible, 19 hours or less per week temporary position with an annual reappointment based on job performance as well as approval and funding availability. Pay rate is $32.50 per hour. Flexible scheduling is available for this position.
NY FarmNet Financial Consultants provide financial counseling and services to clients who request support in identifying and solving problems within a farm family or agricultural business. This includes making an initial assessment, assisting in identifying, gathering, and analyzing data and information to identify problems, assisting in identifying and prioritizing alternative solutions based on the farm’s needs and resources; and assisting in developing and enacting an action plan based on the farm’s needs and resources to drive impactful alternative solutions. Consultants will work remotely and will be required to travel to farms to set up in person meetings with farmers.
Financial assessments include performing partial budget analyses, creating pro-forma income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets, and utilizing data & analytics to inform decision making. Knowledge of the local agricultural economy and businesses, including alternative resources available, is critical to success in this position.
