Job description

This position will play an instrumental role in the commercial leadership team. The primary responsibility is to develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue and market share growth in a specific market segment. In addition, this position will lead a team of sales professionals, and be responsible for building strong relationships with key clients and contributing to the company's overall sales and business development efforts.

  • Strategy Focused:

    • Formulating and implementing strategies to establish leadership positions in your market.
    • Creating and executing strategic plans to attain sales targets and expand our customer base.
    • Keeping up to date with industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape.
    • Able to anticipate complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring integration with wider functional or business strategy.
  • Performance Driven:

    • Setting annual unit and gross-profit plans through market analysis and marketing strategies.
    • Establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories.
    • Maintaining sales volume by monitoring market trends, economic indicators, competitors, and supply and demand.
    • Managing and driving new business performance through CRM pipeline development, analysis, and prioritization.
    • A desire to own projects, exceed expectations, and find solutions within a dynamic, technology-driven culture.
    • Generating and maintaining accurate Account and Opportunity plans.
    • Managing and implementing sales forecasting, planning, and buyer-driven sales and marketing processes.
    • Reporting and analytics, ensuring key performance indicators are met.
    • Able to make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
    • Validating and improving overall data quality through reporting and analytics.
    • Execute strategies successfully while achieving financial targets.
  • Customer Focused:

    • Offering clients relevant insights and recommendations.
    • Building strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels.
    • Effectively communicating the company's value proposition, technology, processes, and current partnerships.
    • Contributing to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
    • Identifying and strategically solving client issues.
    • Ensuring the highest level of customer service by working with internal teams on behalf of clients.
    • Creates an environment in which team members feel a strong sense of ownership and accountability toward creating the best possible customer experience.
  • Inspirational Leadership:

    • Providing coaching and mentorship to segment sales leaders, key account managers, and commercial personnel.
    • Executing and supporting skills and other functional development programs to boost commercial organization performance.
    • Motivating and inspiring your team to cultivate and drive a performance-driven culture.
    • Collaborating with colleagues on cross-territory opportunities and with internal teams on marketing materials and case studies.
    • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.com, and ComScore.
    • Demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
    • Collaborating with the Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams to implement targeted sales strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or engineering.

  • 10 Years of experience in sales and marketing leadership (people management) in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
    • Semiconductor experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong customer focus.
  • Organizational savvy, working effectively in a highly matrixed environment and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Understanding of operational initiatives from a sales or marketing perspective.
  • Proven sales executive experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager, or sales and marketing director.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, including engagement with C-level executives.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and account management tools.
  • Knowledge of the plastics/chemical industry is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze data, build reports, and make strategic recommendations based on data and trends.
  • Project management and deadline-driven work experience.
  • Success in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong business acumen, with a talent for crafting business-oriented solutions to problems.
  • Availability for 60-70% of travel, including some international travel.
  • The salary range for this position is $149,800 - $215,400. Factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence the base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
