Job Overview:
APTIM's Sustainability Solutions Group is seeking a motivated Sustainability Engineer who demonstrates a commitment and enthusiasm for Sustainability and Green Building. Successful candidates will have experience assisting in green building certification processes including but not limited to LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, WELL, Energy Star®, and National Green Building Standard. This person will be responsible for facilitating green building certification assistance to variety of clients in the residential, commercial, hospitality and sports industries. The position is based in [All APTIM Offices]; but may be a hybrid role, with regular travel to client or project sites to conduct audits and assessments.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Acting as a subject matter expert in green build certification processes.
- Determine sustainability certification prerequisites and credits and record in scorecard.
- Perform feasibility studies/GAP analysis.
- Perform analysis of building utility bills to determine practical usage and trends; as well as preparing reports and technical documents and presents findings to property managers, building owners, co-op/condominium boards, and other decision makers at client buildings.
- Building relationships with program implementation leaders as well as other industry stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 1-3 years of full-time employment in sustainability management, environmental planning and/or related fields.
- Experience in reviewing architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications to evaluate against green build requirements.
- Basic knowledge of building systems and construction techniques.
- Must be able to convey complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with client engagement and coordination.
- Detail oriented and organized with proven experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem solving and communications skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities including calculation review and spreadsheet analysis.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment while successfully managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.
- Ability to plan, execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner, with the added ability to multi-task on varying projects and initiatives.
- Demonstrate capacity to work with a variety of workstyles and personalities with a focus on high professional standards, strong follow-up, and successful project execution.
Certifications/Experience:
- Green building certification support (LEED, WELL, EGC, etc.)
- ASHRAE Level I, II, III auditing
- Engineer in Training -- E.I.T. or Professional Engineer (PE) (Preferred)
- International Society of Sustainability Professionals Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) or Sustainability Excellence Professional (SEP)
- LEED (Green Associate or Accredited Professional)
- WELL Accredited Professional
- Global Association of Risk Professionals Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate
