About the team

Stripe will succeed at our mission of increasing the GDP of the internet only if we continue to prove ourselves worthy of our users’ trust. Sensitive Access is a newly formed Security team tasked with reducing Sensitive Access across Stripe’s infrastructure by providing tools and controls to limit sensitive access and enforce controls on required sensitive operations. The team will own their work end-to-end, collaborating closely with users and stakeholders to deliver state of the art solutions and increase Stripe’s security posture. To further the team’s mission, we are looking for a Software Engineer to work with Stripe.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure frameworks, services and APIs used by all of Stripe’s engineering teams
  
• Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems end-to-end
  
• Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter
  
• Design and build solutions that will advance Stripe’s infrastructure security beyond state of the art

Minimum requirements

• Empathy, strong communication skills and a deep respect for the power of collaboration
  
• A learning mindset, regardless of level or experience
  
• 3+ years software engineering experience in a high-stakes production environment
  
• Experience writing high quality code in a major programming language and a constructive attitude to help others raise the bar
  
• Ability to drive clear next steps when encountering ambiguous spaces without clear lines of ownership
  
• Ability to think creatively and holistically about reducing risk in complex environments
  

Preferred qualifications

• Proficiency in Go
  
• Linux system administration knowledge
  
• Security experience is a plus but not at all a requirement
