Position Summary

The Retail Inventory Control Lead plays a key role in supporting operational excellence across all JustFoodForDogs kitchens. This individual will oversee inventory practices at all Retail kitchens, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in inventory management. This role involves monitoring stock levels, analyzing trends, supporting kitchen teams, and driving process improvements to optimize inventory control across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and standardize inventory management processes across multiple kitchen locations
  • Conduct regular remote and on-site audits to ensure compliance with inventory protocols and food safety standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen leaders to monitor stock levels, track usage patterns, and prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to align kitchen needs with purchasing and distribution
  • Implement and maintain systems that ensure real-time visibility of inventory across all kitchens
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support rollout of new products, recipes, and packaging updates by coordinating inventory transitions
  • Train and support kitchen inventory leads at each location on best practices, tools, and systems
  • Troubleshoot inventory-related issues and provide guidance to local teams
  • Lead monthly inventory reconciliations and drive accountability for accurate reporting
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in storage layout, receiving procedures, and waste reduction
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or operations—multi-site or regional experience preferred
  • Passion for pets and alignment with JustFoodForDogs’ mission and values
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in inventory tracking systems (e.g., NetSuite, ERP platforms, Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse teams
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities
  • Ability to travel regularly to various kitchen locations as needed
  • Experience in food production or food service environments is a plus
