What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a talented, passionate Cloud & DevOps Consultant to join our growing team. To be successful, you’ll have a wide breadth and depth of skill in Azure infrastructure, and real-world experience to back this up. If you don’t tick every box below, don’t worry, we value potential just as much as experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • DevOps Mastery: Deep understanding of DevOps principles and how they transform businesses.
  • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure and ability to articulate best practices for building secure, scalable platforms. A good understanding of the similarities and differences between Azure & AWS.
  • Architectural Know-How: Ability to design and implement cloud platforms supporting microservices and containerised workloads.
  • CI/CD Pro: Proven experience with tools like Azure DevOps, Github, GitLab, or TeamCity, and expertise in deployment automation/orchestration.
  • Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with Virtual Network, DNS, Gateways, Load Balancers and more.
  • Security Savvy: Understanding of RBAC, WAF, and Key Vault. Experience implementing best practices for securing data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or equivalent tools.
  • Scripting & Automation: Skills in Python, Ansible, Bash, Groovy, Powershell, or similar. Bonus points if you share your GitHub repo!
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide pragmatic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer at The Scale Factory, you’ll:

  • Deliver high-impact DevOps, Cloud, and Platform Engineering projects for our growing client base.
  • Be a thought leader, sharing expertise through content creation and evangelising our capabilities.

We believe in rewarding great work. Here’s what you can expect as part of the team:

  • 25 Days of Annual Leave (+1 extra day every year for your first three years) and a holiday buying scheme.
  • Pension Plan: Employer-matched contributions up to 5%.
  • Health Coverage: Includes medical, dental, optical, and alternative therapies.
  • Fitness Support: Subsidised gym memberships and a bike-to-work scheme.
  • Commuter Benefits: Season ticket loans to make getting to work easier.

  • Tech You Love: Choose your platform—Mac, Windows or Linux.
  • Certification Funding: Stay sharp with fully funded training and certifications.
  • Team Culture: From annual kick-offs and Christmas parties to team socials, we celebrate success together.

At The Scale Factory, we’re looking for people who are passionate about making an impact and delivering world-class solutions through consultancy. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and join a team that’s shaping the future of DevOps, we’d love to hear from you.
