​​As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Cherry, you will be a founding member of our Analytics Engineering function. You will play a pivotal role in our data strategy, creating and maintaining scalable data models that drive optimized data integrity, usability, and  consistency.

We are looking for a highly analytically driven individual who is passionate about data and excited to join an organization that puts data at the core of all of our decision-making. Your expertise in developing and implementing robust data infrastructure will make a direct impact on our ability to unlock action-oriented insights in many areas across the business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Data Modeling:

    • Create and maintain intermediate data models that optimize the retrieval of data for analytics purposes.

    • Develop and implement data structures that align with the organization's data strategy and requirements.

  2. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and business stakeholders, to understand data needs and requirements.

    • Actively participate in discussions to gather insights and provide technical perspectives on data-related projects.

  3. Database Solutions:

    • Design and implement database solutions to ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance.

    • Work on continuous improvements to enhance the efficiency and scalability of data systems.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (strongly preferred)

  2. Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to write efficient SQL queries.

    • Experience with the modern data stack, specifically dbt (we also use Snowflake, Fivetran and Airflow)

    • Familiarity with a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and experience in distributing data insights via reports and dashboards.

  3. Professional Experience:

    • Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly improving startup environment, focusing on solving problems with iterative technical solutions.

  4. Nice to Have:

    • Strong perspective on analytics engineering development cycle, including data modeling, version control, documentation + testing, and best practices for codebase development.

    • Previous experience within the payments and financial technology space.
