Job description

We are looking for a ​Nuclear Engineer​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​Barcelona, Spain, to join their Test Blanket System Team​. The selected candidate should show integrity and professionalism. Please be aware that this is a fully remote position. 

  

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).  

  

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:  

  • Develop Tritium Breading Module designs adhering to nuclear standards (RCC-MR (MRx), ASME) and predefined boundary conditions; 

  • Select materials such as commercial martensitic steel (T91) for Breading Modules and AISI 316 LN for components behind nuclear shielding, ensuring compatibility with safety and operational constraints;  

  • Generate CAD models to validate design choices and support prototyping; 

  • Conduct failure analysis to ensure designs meet nuclear safety standards, including verification that no single component failure risks personnel, public, or environmental harm; 

  • Perform safety compliance reviews and document adherence to radiation shielding, thermal management, and structural integrity protocols; 

  • Prepare technical reports summarizing simulation outcomes (e.g., thermal, mechanical, neutronics) and compliance assessments; 

  • Maintain detailed records of design iterations, safety validations, and material certifications.
