About the Role 

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you’ll be an integral part of O’Reilly Media’s mission to deliver seamless, reliable, and high-performing digital products. Your work will directly impact the experiences of users across the globe. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work alongside engineers, designers, and product teams to define, test, and refine our digital products—championing user feedback and product quality at every step. Our ideal teammate is a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, a passion for product quality, and a love for learning in a supportive team environment.
 
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 

What You’ll Do 
  • Design and execute test plans that align with system requirements to support a smooth and reliable user experience
  • Perform QA testing on web and mobile platforms, including functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and post-implementation testing
  • Proactively identify, document, and track software defects—partnering with development teams to drive effective solutions and improvements
  • Provide actionable feedback on usability, functionality, and overall quality to Product Managers and stakeholders
  • Assist in analyzing reported software defects, serving as an escalation resource for support teams
  • Monitor, track, and report on testing progress, coverage, and results
  • Champion QA best practices while fostering a culture of continual learning and process enhancement

What You’ll Have 

Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, information technology or related technical field
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience will be considered 
  • 2+ years of software quality assurance experience or related product experience
  • Quality Assurance Experience
    • Possess a foundational understanding of software quality assurance principles, including basic testing methodologies such as functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
    • Proven ability to balance business goals and user needs
    • Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices:
      • Error validation
      • Boundary conditions
      • Performance considerations
      • Accessibility evaluations
      • Platform validation to ensure ensures that the software works correctly across various device, OS, and browser environments
    • Ability to write test cases, execute test plans, and report bugs clearly and effectively.
    • Familiarity with fast-paced, iterative software development environments
    • Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to thrive both independently and in collaborative settings
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and diverse teams
  • A growth mindset, driven by curiosity, innovation, and a desire to continuously improve processes and products
  • Knowledge of various web browsers, mobile devices, and platforms
    • Web Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari
    • Mobile Devices: IPhone, Android

    • Experience testing LLMs, Gen AI, and chat-based interfaces.
