The Sr. Director of Commercial BD Excellence will drive process excellence in commercial execution across Becton Dickinson. This role involves partnering with BD commercial leaders at each Business Unit and region to develop a best-in-class commercial ecosystem and operating model for BDX. As a senior member of the Global BD Excellence team, the Commercial BD Excellence leader will play a crucial role in fostering a continuous improvement mindset beyond Operations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Partner with Global Marketing and Global Commercial Excellence in the development of commercial tools and processes that will drive best in class Sale Effectiveness.
In partnership with Global Commercial Excellence organization, develop and refine our CRM environment to provide Global visibility to key Sales Metric, including Funnel, Weighted Funnel, Win Rate and Velocity.
Partner with Global Enterprise Data teams to develop tools within SFDC that enable a holistic view of our customers across BU’s and product lines.
Own the development of tools and in partnership with Global, Regional, and BU commercial functions the roll out of standardized methodologies to drive sales effectiveness.
Own the “BD Excellence” Operating System for BD Commercial teams, optimizing the End-to-End BD sales, marketing, and commercial network using industry best practices, IT business processes, and digitalization technologies.
Cascade the BD Excellence commercial toolbox, utilizing digital training tools, certification programs, and an apprenticeship mindset to embed BD Excellence into BD’s culture.
Utilize best-in-class tools (Kaizen, VM/DM, Problem Solving, Funnel Mgmt., Win Rooms) to drive results.
Explore external market capabilities and technologies to support BDX Continuous Improvement strategy, promoting innovation across the commercial organization and acting as a change agent for strategic technological shifts.
Establish certified practitioners in each BU for commercial excellence tools, including Funnel Management, Growth Rooms, Problem Solving, and Kaizen.
Drive problem-solving using a Toyota-based approach to create paretos and develop actions to address key issues (80/20 rule).
Refine and standardize SFDC usage, including funnel management, opportunity entry, workflow, and dashboards.
KSA Requirements (Knowledge, Skill, Abilities)
Advanced knowledge of Process and Lean techniques in a commercial setting.
5+ years of Commercial Experience with a proven track record of driving processes to achieve results, ideally with experience as a sales rep, sales leader, and in commercial operations.
Extensive experience with Salesforce.com (funnel management, dashboards) and Marketing automation tools (Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot).
Experience using tools like Power BI, Einstein, etc., to visualize sales data.
Significant experience in Problem Solving, Visual Management, Kaizen, and KPI development.
Proven ability to drive results in a matrix organization where collaboration across functions and regions is essential
Highly analytical, with a deep understanding and love of data
Ability to create concise communications (PPTX, Email) and present to senior leadership professionally and directly.
Experience working in healthcare setting with IDN’s, GPO’s and large government tenders.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive new programs and initiatives with limited direction.
Proven track record of Learning Agility, taking on new projects and roles and demonstrating success within an accelerated timeframe.
BS degree required.
