Position Summary
The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the architecture, design, and security for all database systems, with a focus on SQL Server RDBMS systems. This includes the design and operation of Highly Available systems, Disaster recovery implementation, and standardization of builds for systems ranging from large ERP systems to small applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and architecture of the SQL Server workloads, ensuring their operational readiness (security, health and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. The candidate should be proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. The candidate must also be proficient in using ETL tools. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
Design, implement, and maintain highly available database systems and strategies to minimize data loss and downtime
Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
Monitor database systems to identify and resolve performance issues, data inconsistencies, and other database-related problems
Create and maintain database documentation, including data models, schema diagrams, and data dictionaries.
Create and maintain lifecycle plans for systems, including upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation
Stay up to date with the latest database technologies and trends and evaluate their applicability to the company’s database environment
Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless integration between database systems and other infrastructure components
Performs other related duties as assigned.
