WHAT YOU’LL DO:
MGT is seeking a Business Development Manager to partner with an assigned portfolio to identify opportunities and successfully nurture these opportunities into ready opportunities for cross-team evaluation. The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Enterprise SLED Sales. A strong candidate will have a strong background in business development, government contracting, public sector sales, relationship building, and entrepreneurial skills. This role will benefit from past project management experience given the end-to-end management of the business development process from lead prospecting through contract closure that will be overseen.
In this role you’ll be responsible for
Section 1: Sales and Revenue Management
- Own Sales and revenue figures in partnership with select portfolio group(s)
- Lead market research, such as customer insights, budget evaluations, incumbent identification, pricing, and procurement forecasting.
- Maximize sales (both value and volume) and consistently increase win rates.
- Develop and execute sales strategies for new and existing accounts, while collaborating closely with the Account Executive on strategic account initiatives
- Work closely with the Director of Enterprise SLED Sales on targeted outreach initiatives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of MGT solutions and effectively communicate MGT’s value to potential clients.
- Sales Execution – ensure required pipeline coverage, pipeline quality and health of the pipeline; build and manage pipeline execution with partners.
Section 2: Business Development
- Hunt for new accounts, leveraging both existing relationships and proactive outreach efforts.
- Leverage the firm's infrastructure and portfolio of successful client engagements to develop new clientele.
- Identify new cooperatives, state-term MSAs, and contract vehicles to support growth and a streamlined procurement process.
- Independently and proactively pursue growth opportunities with the portfolio, while keeping the Director of Enterprise Sales informed of progress and developments.
- Develop innovative strategies for bundling services to foster a unified, one-firm approach.
Section 3: Client Relationship Management
- Collaborate closely with marketing teams to connect your audience to our services and nurture leads more effectively.
- Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads, nurturing them to BANTS status through various communication channels.
- Provide ongoing support to clients, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling MGT solutions.
- Cultivate, establish, and sustain business partnerships with organizations that share MGTs' values and services to support contract opportunities.
Section 4: Proposal and Presentation Support
- Coordinate the development of strategic proposals by working closely with the proposals team to ensure optimum value and impact.
- Support the development of presentations and oral demonstrations for MGT opportunities, aligning them with client needs and preferences.
- Work within the Market Group to ensure proposals are delivered on time and meet the requirements outlined by the client.
- Take ownership of internally coordinating proposal and presentation development processes, while operating in partnership with the Account Executive and Director of Enterprise Sales on strategic accounts and high-value opportunities
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, Marketing, or other related field.
- Five (5) or more years of public sector business development experience
- Strong background in public sector procurement and government contracting.
- Knowledge of CRM tools, particularly Salesforce
- Knowledge in the development, management, and execution of public sector sales, including lead generation, pipeline management, account planning, and sales strategy.
- Previously worked in public sector or non-profit organizations
- Previously worked in small-medium size organizations selling professional service solutions to public sector agencies
- Ability to travel to participate in events or sales calls or attend regional or national meetings, as necessary.
