Position Summary

 

Capital Impact, seeing the need to offer pathways for real estate developers to grow and succeed to vision and deliver impactful housing and other developments, created the Equitable Development Initiative (EDI).  The EDI is a multifaceted program aligning education, networking and access to capital for these growing developers seeking to hone their expertise as builders and business owners.  Capital Impact began the EDI  in Detroit and expanded it to the greater Washington DC region, San Francisco Bay area, Dallas, Atlanta and Austin. We are launching the EDI in Chicago later in 2025.  To date Capital Impact has graduated over 300 alumni since the EDI began in 2018, and has an additional 42 participants currently in programs geared for more advanced developers.

 

Capital Impact seeks highly organized and self-motivated internsto support the National Programs team to serve in various capacities in our highly collaborative environment and mission focused team, supporting the launch of new training programs for real estate developers, including the EDI, and programming to support small businesses.  The ideal candidates are committed to our mission of building inclusive and equitable communities by providing people access to the capital and opportunities they deserve.

 

Internships are available (all are hybrid in-person/remote) in (fill in location).   Internships will be for 3 months and will be 40 hours a week.

  • Assist the National Training and Texas Program Leads with implementation of the Austin and Chicago EDI program and training programming, applicant recruitment, screening, and their onboarding process.
  • Contribute to material development including drafting curriculum, agendas, presentations, handouts, assignments, and preparing program speakers.
  • Assist with planning and managing courses and correspondence via the learning management system.
  • Collaborate and support work across Momentus Capital teams, as needed.
  • Complete additional related tasks, as requested.

Requirements

  • Preference for, but not required, to be based in the Austin or Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex areas.
  • Required: Proficient in Microsoft programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets);
  • Preferred: Familiarity with program and project management and/or the real estate industry preferred
  • Preferred: Familiar with Learner Management Systems
  • Strong operational and execution skills (planning, problem solving etc.)
  • Demonstrated capacity for independent judgment and sound decision making in a complex organizational environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (e.g., presentations, periodic reports).

Professional Skills, Education and Experience

  • Current student or recent graduate in Business, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Passion for small business development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience with social media management and email marketing tools (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and familiarity with Salesforce preferred.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $18 - $20 an hour.

This role is primarily remote with in office activities, must be able to go in when required (about once a month).
