Job description

The Technical Business Analyst is a key individual in the implementation of our Irth Integrity Management software solution. You will work under minimal supervision with internal teams to translate business needs into technical requirements. You will also be an important bridge between product management and the development team.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Agile Methodologies Knowledge
    • Scrum or Kanban: Understanding of Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban is crucial, including roles, ceremonies (like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives), and artifacts (like user stories and product backlogs).
    • Iterative Development: Comfort with breaking work into small, manageable tasks and continuously delivering value in short iterations.
  • Technical Skills
    • Basic Programming Knowledge: While you don't need to be a developer, a solid understanding of programming concepts (like APIs, databases, etc.) can help you communicate effectively with development teams and understand technical constraints and solutions.
    • Understanding of Software Architecture: Familiarity with how software systems are structured, how data flows, and what integrations might be needed across systems.
    • SQL and Data Analysis: Being able to query databases and analyze data helps in understanding business requirements and the technical feasibility of solutions.
    • Testing Knowledge: Understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, acceptance) and how QA works within an Agile environment.
  • Business Analysis Skills
    • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Ability to elicit and document requirements from stakeholders using tools like user stories, epics, and use cases.
    • Functional & Non-Functional Requirements: Ability to gather both functional (what the system does) and non-functional (how it performs) requirements.
    • Gap Analysis: Ability to assess and bridge the gap between business needs and the technical capabilities of the software.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Communication Skills: Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is key. You’ll be the bridge between the business and development teams.
    • Negotiation & Conflict Resolution: Stakeholders often have competing priorities, so the ability to find solutions that balance technical limitations and business needs is important.
  • Product Management Support
    • Backlog Management: Understanding how to prioritize the product backlog and help refine and maintain it based on business value and technical feasibility.
    • User Story Writing: Writing well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria that both developers and stakeholders can understand.
    • Feature Prioritization: Helping prioritize features and bug fixes based on business value, risk, and complexity.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking
    • Critical Thinking: Ability to assess situations, identify underlying problems, and propose solutions.
    • Root Cause Analysis: Identifying and addressing the root causes of issues, not just symptoms.
    • Decision Making: Making decisions quickly based on data and collaboration.
  • Tools Proficiency
    • Azure DevOps or Other Agile Tools: Knowledge of project management tools like Azure DevOps to manage the backlog, track sprints, and report progress.
    • Modeling Tools: Familiarity with UML diagrams, flowcharts, or wireframing tools like Lucidchart or Balsamiq to help visualize business processes or system workflows.
  • Soft Skills
    • Adaptability: Agile is fast-paced and iterative. You need to be comfortable with change and uncertainty.
    • Teamwork: TBAs work closely with cross-functional teams, so being a team player and understanding how to collaborate in a highly dynamic environment is key.
