Bus Intell Data Developer
Position Overview:
As a Bus Intell Data Developer, you play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and evaluating big data solutions across various functional and process content areas. You leverage data management best practices and innovative technologies to create stable, flexible, high-performing data and analytics products that reduce the lead time from data collection to insight generation. You assemble large, complex data sets into a format suitable for analysis using fit-for-purpose database technologies and design, build, and orchestrate ETL pipelines.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Business Intelligence Data Developer, are to:
- Develop strategies to identify, acquire, and utilize appropriate data sets to support decision-making;
- Define the strategy and engineering guidelines for major data platforms in collaboration with the data architect;
- Implement efficient data access control mechanisms for various raw data sources in both on-premises and cloud environments;
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery;
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture;
- Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using state-of-the-art technologies;
- Architect, build, and manage a robust, scalable data pipeline in a hybrid-cloud environment to meet business requirements;
- Establish and continuously improve sustainable, efficient, scalable data processes and applications;
- Analyze large and complex data sets to gain insights and build suitable data models;
- Assemble complex data sets into a format useful for analysis using fit-for-purpose database technologies;
- Build services and tools to enhance data accessibility for all data consumers;
- Ensure end-to-end pipeline orchestration and support the development of existing enterprise data analytics solutions.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline;
- Experience in data architecture development, data asset management, data modeling, and linked data concepts;
- Experience with distributed and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Object stores;
- Proficiency in object-oriented scripting languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Scala;
- Profound experience in information architecture, data science, and business intelligence;
- Strong capability to manage implementation and maintenance of data architecture concepts and related platforms;
- Ability to draw insights from structured and unstructured data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SQL dialects like T-SQL and PSQL;
- Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark);
- Competence in data systems design and data visualization techniques;
- Ability to perform business domain analysis and business process modeling;
- Knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools;
- Understanding of cloud computing, version control systems, and basic network security;
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to challenge and convince stakeholders involved in projects.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $103080.00 - 154620.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
