The Role
Provide technical leadership in the design, deployment, and support of compute infrastructure solutions for the enterprise. This includes collaboration with organizations (architecture, development, operational teams, business units, etc.) in cloud migration, operational, and continuous improvement activities. Expectations include staying abreast of advances in technologies, and assessing, making recommendations, and deploying said technologies.

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.
The Main Responsibilities
- Must possess technical expertise in private and public cloud infrastructure solutions and methodologies
- Will provide support directly to internal stakeholders throughout the enterprise to enable and support highly available application solutions that leverage cloud services
- Perform site reliability engineering functions:
- Assessing standards, practices, technologies, and ecosystems
- Make recommendations for improvements and in support of going forward strategies
- Facilitate implementation tasks (Examples: operational standards, automation, developing/implementing code)
- Develop and document best practices/procedures, risk assessments, contingency planning, and disaster recovery & business continuity planning
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders through the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve complex technical problems across multiple technical disciplines
- Proactively manage and maintain compute infrastructure
- Interact and communicate with various levels of senior management on projects and initiatives
- Provide leadership in the migration of legacy technologies to current standards
- Function in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, environment
- Mentor/cross-train team members on existing and new technologies
- Participate in team’s on-call support rotation
- Other duties as assigned
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or related) or equivalent education and experience with typically 8+ yearsof Enterprise level support and design experience. Strong experience in operations and application administration & design
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in delivering Information Technology projects to medium/large enterprises
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering and operating with one or more commercial cloud providers (Examples: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud).
- Cloud professional certifications (Examples: Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Cisco) preferred
- Experience with server virtualization and container platforms (Examples: VMware, Hyper-V) and management systems (Examples: Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift, etc.)
- Experience with automation and scripting technologies (Examples: Ansible, Powershell, etc.)
- Strong/Expert knowledge in Linux and Windows administration
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across the full IT technology stack
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and team dynamic skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technology topics across a broad range of technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete goals independently
- Must be a team player
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
