The Director, Scientific Strategy will be responsible for designing education and writing CME/IME grants, relying on analyses of internal and external sources to inform clinical practice gaps and areas of greatest educational need.
Responsibilities:
• Support Educational Strategists secure funding for CME/IME programs through the design and development of high-quality CME/IME grants that are scientifically and clinically accurate.
• Knowledge of ongoing research and development and pipeline for potential supporters of Endocrinology, Obesity, and Cardiovascular continuing medical education.
• Integration of knowledge of ongoing research and development, supporter funding interests, current patient management, and best patient management practice and adult learning principles to develop a refined funding opportunity through grant conception and development.
• Achievement of annual grant support goals and objectives.
• Achieve or surpass industry-standard win rate for all grants submitted.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:
• Required experience: 3-5 years of developing CME/IME grants and/or equivalent experience writing, developing, and editing medical education activities.
• Experience and expertise in Endocrinology, Obesity, and Cardiovascular grant development strongly preferred.
• Experience in designing Quality Improvement CME programs is a plus.
• Travel to the corporate headquarters in Reston, Virginia or other US locations for in-person Team meetings, training, strategic planning.
• Location: Home-based office is acceptable; however, a location convenient to a major airport is ideal.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Ability to function independently with effective time management, organization, and project management skills; attention to detail; ability to manage diverse tasks to deliver work on time, within budget, and at a high level of quality.
• Understanding of the current treatment landscape and ongoing clinical gaps in Endocrinology, Obesity, and Cardiovascular diseases
• Working knowledge of the ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, and other regulatory agencies’ guidelines and policies in relation to commercially supported educational activities.
• Excellent presentation, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of the Internet and computers, including a sophisticated knowledge of existing Internet-based educational program models
• Exemplary skill in working effectively on interdisciplinary teams and in decentralized work and communication environments.
• Effective decision-making, initiative and judgment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and a resourceful, “can-do” attitude.
