Job description

The Content Manager – Product Marketing will oversee content across various platforms and channels enabling speed to market for marketing campaigns and initiatives that inspire students to transform their lives through education. This role requires a diligent and detail-oriented approach to content management with a goal of leading and supporting content initiatives that adhere to our business goals, brand guidelines, industry standards, and relevant internal and external regulations.
The Content Manager – Product Marketing will serve as the bridge from execution to strategy for a wide variety of marketing activities, campaigns, and processes. They will create, manage, and execute detailed projects, reports, and analysis to ensure planned achievement of milestones.

The Content Manager – Product Marketing works closely with Manager, marketing managers, marketing channel partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver quality campaigns, products and strategies on time and with compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Content Accuracy and Compliance. Serve as a subject matter expert in content reviews and approve marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Collateral Maintenance. Lead review and approval of high touch content including sales collateral such as university and programmatic flyers and digital PDFs.
  • Claims and Testimonials. Support the product marketing team’s ability to drive stronger product positioning through ownership and/or support of new/existing messages such as claims and testimonials. 
  • Website Maintenance. Support initiatives aligned to optimizing content for search engines by serving as a primary product marketing stakeholder reviewer in website initiatives, website requests from organizational partners, and blog content refreshes. 
  • Portfolio Maintenance. Partner with academics, portfolio strategy, marketing and sales teams to support an evolving product portfolio as it relates to restaged or retiring products.
  • Content Audits. Support business teams by leading content audits and collaborating with channel partners to update content in a way that ensures product and brand consistency across all platforms. Assist in regular audits of marketing activities to identify and address potential compliance risks.
  • Process Improvement. Recommend and implement changes to processes aligned to content management to enable speed to market.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on content that includes compliance matters. Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues and complaints.
  • Establish Best Practices. Work with legal and regulatory teams to establish and understanding of changes in laws and regulations that impact marketing practices. Develop and implement compliance procedures for marketing activities as an outcome. Provide guidance and training to marketing and non-marketing teams on compliance issues and best practices to ensure compliance and consistency across channels.
  • Industry and Competitive Insights. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content marketing as well as emerging compliance challenges. Monitor competitor activities and adapt content and strategies accordingly.

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing, content management, business administration, law, or a related field.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%). 
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
  • Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

  • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.

$82,800.00 - $124,200.00 - Salary
