Job description

The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman is currently reviewing applications for the role of Director- Information Technology Operations.

Primary Tasks:

  • Oversee and guide the development, delivery, and optimization of IT processes designed to enable consistent and predictable outcomes from specific inputs based on industry frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL, Six Sigma, COBIT, etc.
  • Leads the development of strategic roadmaps for the disciplines under direct management.
  • Ensure consistent quality and delivery as change occurs. This includes ensuring the proper planning, collaboration, diagramming, testing, training, and communication of all process changes as necessary.
  • Ensure all relevant metrics (KPIs) are tracked and communicated often in accordance with ITIL best practices and I&O needs.
  • Create an environment which focuses on value, collaboration, and transparency.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLA) and operational level agreements (OLA) are established, managed effectively, objectively measured, reported with transparency, and consistently achieved at a high rate.
  • Design and execute on strategies to increase efficiency and customer experience with objective tracking and transparent reporting to measure success of these efforts.  Partner with others in the organization to ensure that more and more low-risk tasks are clearly defined in a repeatable process, permission has been properly delegated, and responsibility for these functions are passed to the appropriate teams. 
  • Actively solicit honest feedback from others in the organization on ways we are perceived on delivering services to the rest of the organization - both formally and through informal means.
  • Promote new innovative ideas in the team while ensuring ideas have a strong value proposition before implementation or seeking additional approval.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic partners, with a focus on long-term vision and cost control.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that capacity within the team is properly managed using only approved technologies/methods and reported regularly using objective data.
  • Ensure that longer-term initiatives are properly planned, forecasted, managed, and communicated according to the I&O project management practices.
  • Develop and ensure completion of training curriculum to position department for current and future-state readiness.
  • Direct an Incident Management function overseeing incident capture, analysis, resolution and ongoing improvements to the betterment of the company
  • Develop department roadmap aligned with business and IT objectives.
  • Interacts with Executive Leadership to communicate, educate, and provide all needed support to business priorities.
  • Actively supports and contributes to the IT organization’s innovation efforts.
  • Monitors spending in alignment with approved budgetary outlay.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience, including 5+ at a leadership level; multiple levels of reporting relationships strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within own function and general knowledge of areas, departments and/or function(s) within and across other disciplines

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master’s preferred
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
  • Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $189,530.00 - $298,515.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
