The role of Claims Administrative Support involves accurately inputting claims information into a database or management system. This includes reviewing claim details, verifying accuracy, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies. The position requires attention to detail, efficient data entry skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Additionally, the role may involve coordinating with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely claims processing.

The Claims Administrative Support is responsible for handling Dental, Vision, and/or hearing claims received from providers and health plan members in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines as outlined in Avesis contractual agreements. The Administrative Support will research, manually enter, route claims to the appropriate queues, create and return letters to the sender. The Claims Administrative Support productive output is guided by performance objectives that specify the volume of claims to be researched, manually entered, routed, or returned to sender on an hourly basis. Administrative Support team members must be able to meet accuracy, quality, and productivity standards as determined by Avesis.

Competencies:

Functional:

  • Provide administrative/clerical support to the Claims department.
  • Avesis systems and applications for claims data entry
  • Maintaining standardized productivity, accuracy and quality performance standards for documents processed.
  • Review scanned documents in comparison to paper copies and making edits as appropriate where the scanning/data entry process produced inaccurate or illegible results, then routing completed documents to the appropriate location
  • Send correspondence to providers and/or members advising the reason their claim could not be processed.
  • Attendance in team meetings related to claims processing reviews and updates for company policies and procedures, audit findings, and other related communications.
  • Ability to meet or exceed quality, accuracy, and production standards as determined by Avesis.
  • Other duties as assigned

Core:

  • Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel and other window-based applications
  • Minimum 1 years of Data Entry experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate at a professional level
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and detail oriented
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently without losing focus.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 years of Data Entry experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 years Administrative/Clerical background, preferably in a Healthcare environment preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
  • Internet & Workspace: A reliable internet connection (25 MBPS upload/50 MBPS download speed) and an appropriate workspace are essential for success in this remote role.
