Job description

RxBenefits is hiring! We are adding a Data Operations Supervisor to our growing team in Birmingham, AL. This role will work in an operational mode in managing Electronic data interchanges (EDI) and implementation. This function also includes researching and resolving member related issues as it pertains to the correctness of data and its exchange.

 

Job Duties Include:

  • Supervise a team of data analysts to accurately implement and maintain eligibility and claims data processing
  •  Build a high-performing team by nurturing the development and growth of current and future talent, providing clear expectations and direction.
  • Manages performance via writing appraisals, giving personal feedback, and helping staff define their career development plans.
  • Handles the exchange of eligibility data between clients, PBM’s, and other 3rd parties.
  • Handles the exchange of claim data between the PBM’s and clients or 3rd parties.
  • Research data and member related issues.
  • Receives calls from both internal and external customers regarding data file issues.
  • Assists with operational aspects of implementing changes to existing clients.
  • Serves as a resource to others.
  • Tracks projects to ensure that data files are received and processed on-time.
  • Performs daily management and monitoring of Electronic Data Interchanges (EDI), including manual intervention and error log review and resolution.
    1.  Ensure reliable and effective EDI operations by monitoring production
    2. Daily run support of EDI
    3. Ensure that EDI errors and requests are processed successfully and promptly
    4. Ensure that EDI data is correct in the supported applications
    5. Perform troubleshooting, analysis, problem solving, exception handling, and reprocessing as necessary to ensure accurate processing
  • Continually drive greater efficiencies in data interchange and support activities; seeks ways to reduce costs while optimizing performance
  • Work closely with the Data Operations Manager to monitor and improve resource and department performance
  • Support the establishment of standard SLA’s
  • Identifies ways to share information across team; promote skill development through job rotation
  • Manage Cases including Standard work request, Issue review and resolution, and Q&A. This includes review of new Cases, investigation, task assignment and all follow up activities needed for Case resolution and to help ensure complete and accurate resolution. Respond to all Cases efficiently and professionally. Identify any bottlenecks and follow up with various departments to address aging Cases.
  •  Provide oversight to the data integrity as well as develop data quality metrics and data quality assurance programs to prevent or minimize risk to the integrity of data.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Skills / Experience: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business, or related field, plus 5 years of progressive experience

• Experience supervising or leading a team is preferred

• Experience implementing KPI driven approach to measure and improve productivity

• Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Proficiency with ASCII Text files and editing software

• Knowledge/experience with FTP software

• Knowledge/experience with encryption software

• Excellent Troubleshooting and Error Handling

• Prior work experience leveraging written and oral communication skills; organization skills; and relationship management skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple and competing priorities

• Strong customer service orientation

• Strong technical acumen and an understanding of major industry sector trends.

• Preferred:

o Experience troubleshooting pharmacy systems / software

o Healthcare/PBM industry experience

o Knowledge/experience with electronic project documentation & tracking systems (SalesForce)

o Advanced Excel skills (advanced formularies, tables & formatting, conditional formatting, pivot tables & charting)

o Experience developing EDI processes without tools


Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $67,200 - $80,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
