This is a remote position.

Schedule:
  • Part Time, could be EST evenings M-W-F  5pm-9PM,  Saturday 12-6PM  for total 20 hours, or earlier 3PM-8PM for 3 weekdays, and 1pm-6pm Saturday - Our client is available between 9AM-8PM.

Job Description

We’re seeking a creative and multifaceted Social Media Specialist / Admin Assistant to join our dynamic therapy practice. In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of mental health advocacy, content creation, and practice management. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to edit and produce engaging video content, manage our social media presence, and provide crucial administrative support. Your work will directly contribute to expanding our reach and impact in the mental health field, particularly in areas of LGBTQ+ support and political commentary. This position offers a unique blend of creative freedom and structured administrative tasks, allowing you to showcase your diverse skill set while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities
  • Transform long-form therapy sessions and educational content into captivating short-form videos using CapCut, adding music, sound effects, and creating a polished “show-like” format
  • Manage and grow our social media accounts, with a focus on Instagram, crafting engaging posts and interacting with our audience to boost follower engagement
  • Create eye-catching thumbnails for our video content to maximize viewer interest
  • Handle sensitive client interactions through social media, email, and text, ensuring a professional and empathetic approach
  • Assist with scheduling and billing using the Jane management system, maintaining efficient practice operations
  • Manage our admin email address, addressing scheduling and billing inquiries promptly
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase our social media following while adhering to therapy industry regulations
  • Contribute to content creation for our LGBTQ-focused website, addressing current political and social issues with sensitivity and insight
  • Ensure all content aligns with the guidelines set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in video editing software, particularly CapCut; experience with other tools like Descript is a plus
  • Strong creative skills with a keen eye for engaging visual content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for various platforms and audiences
  • Experience in client interaction and customer service, preferably in a healthcare or therapy-related field
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Familiarity with healthcare or therapy industry regulations is highly desirable
  • Understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and political satire content creation
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving social media trends and platform updates
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and a desire to make a positive impact through digital media
