Information Security Analyst

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. We are seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our team to support activities for a variety of GDIT security contracts. As a security analyst, you will work with a team of scrutinize network and system security for efficacy. This effort includes evaluating security safeguards designed to minimize the security risk and protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, including privacy information.

This position is part of a security team responsible for evaluating and ensuring a high security posture for critical federal information systems. Our team’s security responsibilities include, but are not limited to, evaluating security operations, monitoring, risk management processes, potential system weaknesses, security documentation, system roles and access; and validating enforcement of Federal and organizational policies.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
  • Maintains awareness of agency information technology systems, information technology and information security policies.
  • Coordinates with development teams to monitor for necessary security controls and to provide input on potential risks and mitigations in an Agile framework.
  • Coordinates with quality assurance teams to develop, test, and/or review security related work product and Security Manuals.
  • Conducts requested research to provide input on threats, vulnerabilities, and potential mitigations regarding agency information systems.
  • Assists with the collection and presentation of documentation to support assessment and authorization activities to maintain information system Authority to Operate.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of security artifacts, including privacy impact assessment, security impact assessment, system security plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
  • Supports the monitoring and documenting of plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Cyber Security or Information Technology).
  • 1+ year of work experience in cyber security.
  • 1+ year of work experience in security and system administration and architecture at an enterprise level.
  • 1+ year of work experience in cybersecurity audits and ability to respond to data requests regarding security compliance.
  • 1+ year of work experience in Cloud environments, in particular Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of development life cycles, including Agile and hybrid waterfall.
  • Experience analyzing system and development requirements and identifying applicable security controls, policies, and directives.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability and comfort level to conduct presentations for existing customer audiences.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD:

  • Knowledge of Agile development tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and data structures.
  • Knowledge of the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model.
  • Knowledge of NIST Special Publications and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Associate of ISC2 / CC, CISA, or Security+ CE security certification. Other equivalent security certifications will be considered.
  • SANS/GIAC in either Cloud Security or Cybersecurity Leadership, ISC2, Cloud or Associate CISSP, ISACA certification Governance, Risk Management or Security Program. EC First CMMC or HIPAA certifications.

The likely salary range for this position is $72,509 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
