The Opportunity
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices, peripheral stents, thrombectomy catheters and atherectomy devices.
We currently have an opportunity available for a Medical Education Manager, Program Development. The Medical Education (Med Ed) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining medical education programs. This role ensures alignment with the Med Ed strategy and adapts to changes as necessary. The Med Ed Manager provides guidance and clinical expertise to the Education Support team, coordinates with peers, and manages vendor relationships. This position requires collaboration with various departments and stakeholders to ensure successful program implementation and compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
What You'll Do
Program Development and Alignment: Develop new medical education programs; align all programs with the Med Ed strategy and adapt to changes as appropriate. Work with marketing/production to create promotional materials for current and new programs to grow internal and external awareness; photograph/videos of current/future Med Ed events to include description of educational opportunities as well as team and customer testimonials
Team Guidance and Supervision: Provide guidance and clinical expertise to the Education Support team; offer feedback to ensure successful program implementation.
Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with Medical Education Management peers; manage and partner collaboratively with vendors; collaborate with field staff to determine current needs in the field for new program development. Cross divisional collaboration for new program development (EP, CRM, SH, HF) to create interdisciplinary educational opportunities.
Program Maintenance: Maintain existing programs by metrics and follow-up; update course content as required. Work with Med Ed Liaison and support team to ensure alignment in event goals, messaging and expectations. Work with local field teams to equip them to promote and support local educational programs
Compliance and Tracking: Work with department management to ensure programs remain compliant with Abbott Corporate Guidelines and regulatory guidelines; maintain tracking of training and compliance activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with faculty and manage relationships; collaborate with Product Marketing, Marketing Services, other geography marketing leaders, local sales, and marketing to develop tools, messages, data, programs, systems, services, and behaviors related to programs; update sales leadership on existing and future programs.
Communication and Collaboration: Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and development, implementation, and tracking of business best practices; evaluate the effectiveness of training materials and programs on a continuous basis; capture and share program metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and work experience (4-6 years minimum)
3-5+ years of clinical and/or training experience in Cardiovascular and/or Endovascular Therapy area preferred or equivalent sales and/or marketing experience
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
The base pay for this position is
$97,300.00 – $194,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
