About the role

We are looking for a native Swahili speaking Medical Translator to join us on a part-time, freelance basis for up to 8 hours per month. This is a fully remote position and we are open to applications from candidates in any location.

What you’ll do

English to Swahili translation of medical and other relevant content across Ada’s products, including the consumer app and client-facing services.
Support with Swahili speaking partner requests.
Support the localization team in Marketing with translation for UX copy for Ada’s client and user-facing products, including our app.
Utliize our in-house tools to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

Medical approbation or a license to practice medicine in the country of study (or you could be a student currently enrolled in a medical course at university)
A native-level fluency in Swahili AND a professional fluency in English.
Good command of Swahili grammar and complex vocabulary.
Excellent time management skills, excellent communication and the ability to to work to deadlines within a cross functional environment.
Good level of computer literacy (Windows, Google Sheets, OS X, MS-Office, etc.) and software understanding.
Previous medical translation experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Previous experience of working in a corporate environment would be ideal but again, is not essential.
