Job description

Headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, VIA optronics (VIA), is excited to provide an opportunity for a ‘Remote’ Field Application Engineer to join our small North American team! In this key role, you will provide guidance, creative ideas, and solutions, to customers pursuing the newest display technology in their products. It is a fantastic opportunity for any engineer with display experience who enjoys domestic/international travel (25%) and is looking for a flexible and fully remote position.

As a Field Application Engineer with VIA, some of your duties may include:

  • Provide technical support for our sales team
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and technical requirements
  • Product/Prototype design reviews and suggestions for improvements
  • Define and propose creative solutions to meet the client’s needs
  • Product demonstration and troubleshooting
  • Provide training and workshops for our products and services
  • Monitor and support project timelines

We expect our Field Application Engineers to have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an FAE ideally with display industry knowledge
  • Demonstrated display technology technical knowledge
  • Auto Industry experience is a plus
  • Initiative-taker with the ability to function independently
  • Outstanding communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent problem-solving, innovation, and organizational skills
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Willingness and ability to travel (domestic and international)
