Senior Software Engineer in Testing

Ascendon is expanding its teams in Brazil. These teams are responsible for delivering new features for CSG’s cloud based digital BSS Ascendon Platform. One exciting opportunity is for a Senior Software Engineer in Test with both manual and automation experience to join our growing teams. 

 We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Testing who will:

• You will understand the requirements to develop and maintain backend automated tests using an existing automation framework 

• You will create and execute manual tests, accurately document test results, diagnose and create defects 

• You will identify data needed for both manual and automated tests and create new data or obtain existing data to meet requirements of the test 

• You will perform functional, application, regression, integration, and performance testing.    

• You will work as part of a scrum team in an agile environment, collaborating with developers, testers, product owners and cross functional teams to continuously enhance the testing of our applications 

• You will be involved with releasing software and will collaborate with teams to ensure smooth deployments 

• You will assist in identifying root cause of issues, analyzing logs, and resolving defects 

• You will champion our testing best practices and identify ways to improve how and what we test 

Is this opportunity right for you? We’re looking for candidates who:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

• 2-4 years’ work experience in a testing role

• Experience in creating manual and automated tests, especially for the backend

• Experience testing web-based applications and API testing

• Experience with Postman or SoapUI

• Strong experience working with SQL databases

• Working experience working with cloud providers

• Ability and interest to learn new tools and technologies and apply them

• Working knowledge of continuous integration, automated tools, industry standards, and best practices in test automation

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD processes

• Proficiency in English in a business environment is a must
