Job description

Vermont State University Online seeks an adjunct instructor to teach a 3-credit Business course during the Fall 2025 semester between 8/25/2025-10/12/2025.  The course will be taught 100% online using Canvas.

POSITION: Part-time, Adjunct Instructor

RESPONSIBILITIES: VTSU Online uses Canvas and provides a generic course template for all courses. The instructor is responsible for adding outcomes, academic materials, discussion and assignment that support the course description. Additionally, VTSU Online instructors are obligated to adhere to the VTSU Online Standards that address instructor presence, student engagement, instructor expectations, and assessment of student work.

Course description:

Students study the essentials of starting and managing a small business, including but not limited to: raising capital, location analysis, preparation of financial projections, alternate legal structures, attracting and maintaining customers and employees, and complying with laws and regulations. The course culminates with the preparation and presentation of a comprehensive business plan.

Qualifications:

For consideration, candidates must possess at least a master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in online teaching is essential, and familiarity with Canvas desired. Experience in teaching adult learners is required.
