ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

  • Duration: This assignment will be approximately 6 months.
  • Compensation: $33.62 - $36.39/hour. Eligible for paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, possible weekends, 8 hour shift
  • Location: Remote

Description

TES is searching for applicants specializing in Anatomical Pathology coding. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform in depth complex daily CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding of inpatient and outpatient charge documents received from physicians for surgical procedures. Queries and provides feedback to providers and other clinical department personnel. Accurately interpret written notes/diagnoses and convert them to CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes. Performs other related functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
  • Must have three (3) years of comparable coding experience (Anatomical Pathology coding experience).
  • Strong skills in CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPC coding applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • EPIC experience.
  • 3M experience.

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $70,199 - $87,258 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.62 - $41.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
