The Fod and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is working to achieve fod security for all and make sure that peo have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives.
The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
Technical Focus
To carry out studies on the operations in Proagro, including the Family Agriculture Insurance – SEAF and the Traditional Proagro, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, except for the micro-regions of Três Passos, Frederico Westphalen, Erechim and Sananduva, for the main insured crops, focusing on the occurrence of claims and related processes, as well as to develop analysis on the prospects for the next year and trends for the next two years, presenting propositions for the treatment of risks in these crops and improvement of processes within the scope of Proagro.
Tasks And Responsibilities
Systematize contracting information, claims notices and indemnity payments.
Analyze the occurrence of claims and the types of events and loss factors.
Develop analysis of the perspectives for the next year and trends for the next two years, presenting proposals for the treatment of risks in these crops.
Identify and map the critical and most relevant areas for the MDA within the scope of Proagro.
Accompany senior colleagues on visits to local branches of financial agents and conducting interviews/meetings with the management and those responsible for the SEAF processes.
Support senior colleagues on meetings with technicians/companies that carry out expert reports in loss proof processes.
On-site visits to the crops to analyze the quality of the processes of proving losses related to the sampled reports, including verifying that the respective reports correctly record the production obtained, the causes of the losses, the planted area and the location of the crop using GPS and the fulfillment of other contractual conditions by the insured farmer.
Support senior colleagues contact the respective farmers, verifying the producer's knowledge of the SEAF rules and other programs, the indicatives of the Agricultural Zoning and the ATER actions, making the notes in a specific complementary form and guiding the producer on these topics .
Provide support to senior colleagues on technical meetings with experts in risk management in agricultural insurance and related areas.
Systematize and present the records of activities according to the guidelines of CGSEAF/DEFIP/SAF/MDA.
Minimum Requirements
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:
University degree in Agricultural Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq table
Minimum professional experience of 05 (five) years in agronomic activities.
Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
