The Sr. Health Systems Lab Operations Manager leads the implementation project plan for the Professional Laboratory Services (PLS) models. Collaborates with the regional, center led and Quest hospital leadership to ensure full execution on PLS service delivery improvement commitments. Will ensure service excellence with patient care as a primary objective while adhering to contracted terms. Will effectively manage internal and external stakeholders in a matrix environment, balancing needs and driving toward desired outcomes. They share their expertise and knowledge in Health System Lab Operations as consultants with regional, center led & Quest hospital leader resources. They serve as a technical expert for Hoshin or continuous improvement activities for HS Lab operations.
This professional can work 100% remote with 25-50% domestic travel. This professional must be located in the US.
Represents Quest Diagnostics to external customers in initial stages of Lab Management transitions including kick-offs by presenting high-level transition plans and implementation plans. Directs process with regional and corporate operations and hospital clients’ senior staff.
Directs staff resources in the deployment, management, and execution of all aspects of PLS Lab Management implementation plans, including HR, IT, and operations based on contract terms.
Provides regular presentation summaries to PLS senior team to ensure successful transition plans.
Oversees multiple simultaneous launches and associated resources using project management skills to implement arrangements in multi-sites with complex test menus and staffing requirements. Establish design and implement center of excellence strategies across a hospital system per contract terms.
Ultimate accountability for successful and timely client launches on a national basis.
Partners with HS Sales & BD teams during due diligence for new PLS models to assist with on-site evaluations.
Optimize performance of FLM/LMP based on benchmark data. Leads clinical and operational design and process improvement work addressing clinical and operational productivity performance, workforce efficiency and patient safety. Designs systems to ensure performance is effective & sustained.
Collaborates with hospital senior staff on an ongoing basis to ensure needs of hospital are met.
Collaborate with CRM team to resolve quality and service-related operational issues for new or existing FLM/LMP clients
Post implementation the HS Operational Excellence team will continue to consult with the region as the SME of Hospital Operations including equipment & discipline primary supplier standardization, liaison with National Operations/Medical/Franchise leaders on technical insights.
Acts as a liaison between the equipment vendors that service the Health System customers and Quest.
Collaborates on national implementation needs with regional & center led HR, Procurement, IT and operational stakeholders during pre-implementation, implementation & post-implementation/steady state.
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following disciplines Core Lab (Hematology, Coagulation, UA, Chem/IA) Blood Bank, Microbiology, Anatomic Pathology (Histology/Cytology).
Serves as a SME or technical resources for Hoshin or continuous improvement activities for HS lab operations.
Leads hospital laboratory equipment strategy for Professional Laboratory Services (PLS) customers.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
7 or more years managerial experience in the laboratory industry.
