About BI Competency: Focuses on collecting, analyzing, and presenting data in a format that enables organizations to make informed business decisions. This involves extracting relevant data from disparate sources, transforming, and consolidating it into meaningful insights, and presenting these insights through reports and visualizations. The core of the work is around report design and development using a variety of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik. Other important aspects include report performance and usability. In addition to report development, BI Reporting Consultants play an important role in training and upskilling client users to use BI tools to improve data literacy, user adoption and enable self-service BI scenarios.

Duties:

• Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights.
• Utilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports.
• Make essential technical and strategic changes to improvise present business intelligence systems.
• Should be able to write extensive DAX for the purpose of designing reports and dashboards.
• Must be able to build semantic data models connecting to SQL, do data modelling and create transformations in Power Query.
• Must be able to build and connect to dataflows.
• Must have knowledge of external tools like Tabular editor to manipulate semantic models directly.
• Must be up-to-date with the latest updates in Power BI
• Must be able to handle Power BI service including setting up RLS and providing access to stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in creating reports and dashboards in the Power BI tool.
• Very Good knowledge of DAX, Power Query M, SQL languages.
• Knowledge about SSAS, Azure Analysis Services and Power BI Premium Gen 2.
• Knowledge about data modelling, reports performance tuning, business requirements gathering and translation them to solution.
• Hands on experiences with different connectivity modes (import, direct, live).
• Experiences with PBI workspaces maintenance and administration (Gateways, security,etc.).
• Experiences with direct query mode performance optimization on database, PBI and DAX side.
• Excellent technical knowledge, problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to translate technical solution advantages into business value for the customers.
• English language proficiency is a must, both verbal and written.
• Experiences in delivering e2e solution starting from requirements gathering, understanding business needs, design, develop, testing and maintenance.
• Aware about newest features in Power BI.
• Experiences in role of Tech Lead on projects (aligning e2e architecture with solution architects, building report creation and delivery strategy, work items split and control delivery quality and progress status).
