Job Summary:
As the Communications Manager at Crunchbase, you will lead our public relations strategy, shaping and amplifying our brand narrative. You will be responsible for crafting compelling stories that position Crunchbase as a forward-thinking, predictive intelligence solution that empowers customers to make better business decisions. You must be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of media dynamics, particularly in the B2B tech space. You will collaborate cross-functionally to enhance our thought leadership, cultivate strong relationships with press, analysts, and key stakeholders, and elevate Crunchbase’s public presence.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Strategic PR Leadership: Lead and evolve the Crunchbase public relations and communications strategy encompassing corporate, product, and crisis communications.
PR Agency Management: Act as the primary liaison with our PR agency, providing direction and oversight to ensure their activities align with our strategic objectives and yield significant results.
Media Relationship Management: Maintain and expand our existing media relationships with journalists, analysts, and industry influencers. Proactively identify new media opportunities and secure top-tier coverage in relevant publications.
Executive Thought Leadership: Manage our thought leadership program and own the development of executive thought leadership content. Secure opportunities for our executives and internal experts in the form of bylines, interviews, and speaking engagements.
Spokesperson Training and Support: Handle media training for Crunchbase spokespersons, including crafting talk tracks and presentations to ensure effective and consistent messaging.
Storytelling and Content Creation: Become a Crunchbase expert, leveraging company data, product launches, and milestones to craft compelling stories that enhance brand awareness and position Crunchbase as a leader in our industry.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with content and social media teams to amplify PR wins across channels. Partner with teams across the business to ensure consistent messaging in all company communications.
Awards Program Oversight: Oversee our awards program to continuously position Crunchbase as a top-tier solution and thought leader in our industry.
Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze media coverage, sentiment, and PR impact, providing regular reports to stakeholders.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR strategies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong network of media contacts and relationships.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Google Office Suite and Slack.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a communications or public relations role in B2B technology.
Experience with data and AI storytelling.
Experience shifting the perception of offerings/brands via communications and thought leadership.
