Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure compliance of legal and company guidelines and procedures
Collaborate with multiple pre-litigation departments and teams to identify potential cases for litigation and facilitate the progress of cases
Review, analyze and evaluate cases with approaching statutes of limitation
Manage and maintain case management database---including updates and report generation
Prepare informative reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing case information
Document case highlights and concerns, define litigation case objectives, and formulate case plan in accordance with company strategies.
Assign new cases to the Litigation Teams on an as needed basis
Conduct investigations and documentary research
Navigate California Superior Court websites to obtain case/docket information
Research into party identity, location and assets
Calendar and manage important deadlines, including but not limited to, statutes of limitation, court hearings, and due dates
Draft and file legal documents with the court, including, but not limited to summons, complaints and proofs of service
Serve as a liaison between pre-litigation departments and litigation department
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of civil litigation experience, personal injury experience preferred
ABA-approved Paralegal Certification required
Very well organized
Good follow-up
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
