4X Game Designer

We are seeking a 4X Game Designer to join our team and help create engaging and immersive strategy experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, balancing, and fine-tuning core game mechanics, systems, and live operations for a large-scale, mobile-first 4X strategy game. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and engineers to ensure a compelling and well-balanced player experience.

Task pool: 

• Design and iterate on 4X game mechanics, progression systems, and in-game economies.
• Develop engaging and balanced game loops, ensuring long-term player retention and monetization.
• Work on content pipelines, event structures, and live operations to keep the game dynamic and engaging.
• Analyze player behavior and game telemetry data to improve features and game balance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design goals with technical and artistic constraints.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitor titles to enhance the game’s competitiveness.
• Create detailed design documentation for internal teams and external partners.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in game design, with a focus on strategy or 4X games.
• Deep understanding of 4X mechanics, including economy, diplomacy, combat, and territory expansion.
• Strong knowledge of free-to-play game design and live game operations.
• Ability to balance complex game systems and create meaningful player choices.
• Experience with data-driven design and working with analytics to optimize player engagement.
• Proficiency in creating clear and structured game design documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for strategy games and a deep understanding of the genre
  

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience working on mobile-first strategy games.
• Familiarity with scripting or game engines such as Unity or proprietary tools.
• Knowledge of UX principles for strategy games.
